MetroGreen has been instrumental in the upgrade of the Auckland public open spaces and streetscapes, which received an “unprecedented number of accolades” in 2013.
The Fort Street Shared Space project began in late 2012 and was finished in early/mid 2013. Once again the Citygreen Strata Cells were used as part of the Auckland Council's successful Central City upgrade.
This tree-lined shared space is now a combination of 'vibrant' and 'peaceful' that gives a relaxing touch to New Zealand's largest city. We visited the completed site at the beginning of the evening rush hour in early December 2013 and we were extremely impressed by the peaceful surroundings while nearby Queen Street was congested with traffic.
