The ISC ZK2 Singing Tree Rope Wrench is a device that allows DRT (double rope techniques) to be performed whilst using a single rope. This is achieved by creating a bend above the climber’s hitch, which with the addition of the stiff tether creates a ‘contained doubled rope system’ that travels throughout the tree allowing for a level of consistency of friction, impossible to replicate in doubled rope climbing.
The ZK2 Singing Tree Rope Wrench is a unique friction control device designed to work in conjunction with a suitable friction hitch to allow aerial arborists to ascend, descend and work position on a 'single line'. Without the Singing Tree Rope Wrench the friction hitch would bind up on a single rope and not function efficiently. By attaching the Singing Tree Rope Wrench to your system with the stiff tether provided, the device works by applying leverage to force the climbing line into an S-bend above the hitch - the kink in the rope provides additional friction during descent to ensure the knot behaves correctly. You should have a strong working knowledge of Single Line Work Positioning before you attempt to use the Rope Wrench - this means you should have received qualified training! Do not climb above your anchor point!
Robust aluminum construction; lighter and smaller than the original version
Machined edges and curves are rope friendly and user friendly
Includes mid-line attachment "Slic" pin
The bottom friction pin features a roller sheave for a smoother ascent and descent
The upper friction pin includes a larger diameter "slic" pin. This provides more consistent friction and is more rope friendly
The stiff tether forces the Rope Wrench to quickly engage or disengage. This responsiveness optimizes your climbing experience
Best suited to 10mm diameter friction cord approximately 80cm eye-to-eye
